Dice and Dunes Limited, trading as Dice & Dunes, licence MC 14969, Smart Station, First Floor, Incubator Building, Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. We run the Dice & Dunes games venue and its events.
For questions or requests about your details, email hello@diceanddune.com or ask a founder at the counter.
When you register, we ask for:
Your full name, gamertag, mobile number, email address, date of birth and city.
The games you play, your level and formats, what you are interested in, and when you can play.
If you choose to give them: your Discord, Instagram, TopDeck, Wizards Account, Pokémon, Konami, Bandai Namco, Riot and Steam names or IDs.
Your choices about news and offers, and about appearing in photos and videos.
How you heard about us and who brought you, if you tell us.
For a player under 18: the parent or guardian's name, mobile number and consent.
While you play with us, we also keep:
Your Player ID and the QR code we make for you.
When you come in and which events you join.
What you pay, how you pay, and any refunds.
Your event results, standings and Ladder points.
Notes staff make about a safety or behaviour concern, and any ban or suspension.
Which version of this notice you read, and when you registered.
To create your player record and check you in at the door with your QR code.
To run events, tournaments and the Ladder.
To apply age rules: players under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent.
To send booking reminders and messages about events you joined.
To send news and offers, only if you said yes. You can stop them at any time.
To use photos and videos of you, only if you said yes. You can change your mind at any time.
To keep the payment records the law requires.
To keep players and staff safe and to deal with behaviour concerns.
To understand, in totals, how people find us and which events they like.
We never sell your details.
Our staff: founders, managers and floor staff. They can see your record, including your date of birth and, for a player under 18, the guardian's details, so they can apply age rules and reach a guardian if needed.
Other players and visitors: your gamertag, results and Ladder standing can appear on the Ladder, in tournament brackets, on the screen in the venue and in our Discord. Your full name, contact details and date of birth are never shown in public.
Google, which stores our records (Google Workspace) and runs this app (Google Cloud and Firebase).
Challonge, which runs tournament brackets. It receives your gamertag and your Player ID, for example DD-00042. In brackets, players are shown by their gamertag.
Stripe, when we start taking card payments online. We will update this notice before that happens.
Authorities, when the law requires it.
Google stores our records. Google may keep them on servers outside the UAE, for example in Europe. We only use providers that protect personal data, and we limit who can open our records.
We keep your record while you play with us, and for 5 years after your last visit or contact. After that we delete or anonymise your personal details: your full name, email, mobile number, date of birth and the like. Your gamertag and your results stay, because the gamertag is your name on the Ladder and in brackets.
If the law makes us keep payment records for longer, we keep those records, and only those, for as long as the law says.
If you ask us to delete your record, we do it sooner. We remove your personal details, except what the law makes us keep. We keep your gamertag, your member number, the record of your consent answers and your payment records. Your gamertag stays on the Ladder. Results already published stay under your gamertag. You can register again, but not under that gamertag.
You can ask us to:
Tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy.
Correct anything that is wrong.
Delete your details.
Stop or limit how we use them.
Send your details to you or to another company in a common format.
Stop news and offers, or stop using photos of you, at any time.
Email hello@diceanddune.com or ask a founder at the counter. We may ask you to show who you are. We aim to answer within 30 days.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.
A parent or guardian must give consent before a player under 18 can register. The guardian ticks the boxes, not the player.
We do not collect social media names, game account IDs, or who brought them, from players under 18.
News and offers are off, and the player is kept out of photos and videos.
In tournament brackets they are shown by their gamertag, like every other player.
When a player turns 18, staff stop seeing the guardian's details on screen. We keep the record that consent was given.
If we change this notice, we will publish the new version and tell you about important changes. We record which version you read.
